Most companion birds are from tropical areas which get close to 12 hours of sunlight a day. Like most animals (and people), lack of sun affects birds physically and mentally. Placing your
bird cage near a window helps, but you probably don't have direct light for long periods. Invest in a bird lighting system! Bird lighting systems mimic the wavelengths of natural sunlight - you'll see the difference in your pet's energy, mood, and health. (Remember to give your pet 12 hours of
rest a day, with the light off.)
